We have an brilliant new resource for you! Working with Ukrainian Children, Young People and Families is for facilitators, teachers and anyone working and creating music with Ukrainian young people.
The resource covers language considerations, observations, recommendations, plus a case study with displaced Ukrainian children in a classroom in Slovakia. It was produced by Adela Donoval – a musician based in Slovakia, who facilitated the group – and Roshi Nasehi – a sound artist and one of our amazing facilitators – who provided mentoring support from the UK.
“It was important to foster a sense of joy in the classroom – one that made the students curious and eager to learn. This also encouraged the Ukrainian students to really find joy in sharing their culture with their fellow students.”
Listen to the song Dasha Lisa, created by the group and inspired by Ukrainian folk songs and poems.
Download the full resource below, we hope you find it useful! Please share it far and wide.
