Torture Survivors perform @ The Big Conversation, Manchester Art Gallery, 28th Oct

Event Date: 28th October,2018 at 1:00 pm
Event Location: Mosley St, Manchester M2 3JL

Our refugee torture survivor collective Stone Flowers will be performing at Manchester Art Gallery on 28th Oct as part of ‘The Big Conversation,’ an event hosted by Manchester City of Sanctuary. Members have fled war, torture and armed conflict from across the world including Iran, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Syria, Afghanistan, Cameroon and the DRCongo. Drawing on their different languages, traditions and cultures, it should be a powerful 45 minute set.

Our partner charity – Manchester City of Sanctuary – is staging the ‘Big Conversation’ event to provide an opportunity to welcome new refugees and asylum seekers, and engage in consultation activities and round table discussions on how to make this a real ‘city of sanctuary’ for people seeking refuge.
The event is free and Stone Flowers’ performance will begin at 2:15 pm Find out more here.

Since 2011 we have worked with over 200 torture survivors and recorded two studio albums available to buy or download .
