Emmanuela is a singer, creative facilitator and French, Lingala and Swahili interpreter who fled war in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She is a founding member of the MAI Music Facilitator team.
Emmanuela is director of Amani Creatives, which supports the inclusion of local African communities into wider society through performing arts events, workshops and programmes, using the arts and culture as a tool for community development, wellbeing and community cohesion. She performs with Afro-Celt Sound System and recently on a BBC programme about the Sahara.
