The war in Sierra Leone is over but it’s effects are devastating. Many people were killed, many were forced to leave their homes, many live in severe poverty, as well as recovering from the Ebola crisis and mudslide.
Last year, with incredible organisation WAYout Arts, we developed a creative music programme with young people living on the streets in Sierra Leone. The young people set up their own choir, wrote songs and created a small team to bring music to a juvenile centre, a disabled village and slum area Ferry Junction.
We want to support these amazing young people to develop long-term music programmes and bring joy and happiness to the streets of Freetown!
