We have teamed up with Manchester International Festival (MIF) and renowned theatre company Good Chance to be part of one of the most innovative and adventurous public works ever attempted: The Walk
At the heart of The Walk is ‘Little Amal a 3.5 metre-tall puppet of a young refugee girl, created by Handspring Puppet Company. Representing all displaced children, many separated from their families, Little Amal is travelling over 8,000km embodying the urgent message “Don’t forget about us”.
Our creative team of musicians who are also refugees with similar experiences to Amal, are working with schools all over Greater Manchester and with local asylum seeker group WAST to raise awareness of refugees, improve well-being, and create a song together in many languages to be performed at Castlefield Arena, Manchester on 3 November.
Our monthly e-news tells you what we are up to and how you can take action with survivors of war and torture
